Philip Pearlstein

I had applied to Graphicstudio for a job after a work slowdown when we were in Spokane, WA. I was contacted by them and an interview was scheduled at their shop in Tampa, FL. I first became aware of Graphicstudio (as well as Gemini Press) while I was interning at Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, NM. These two studios interested me because of their ability to work with artists in a variety of mediums.

At that time, in the late 80’s, Graphicstudio had workshops in various locations. After a tour of their facilities we had lunch and talked about the project they were looking to hire a printer for. I expressed my desire work on work the Pearlstein woodblock and a week later I was ready to leave the snowy Spokane winter for the Florida project!
