Our Story
Since 1979, Ocean Works has printed fine art lithographs with professional artists. The shop was founded in Newport Beach, CA by Tamarind Master Printer Conrad A. Schwable and his partner Steve Andrews. The shop was located in an 1100sq/ft building in the cannery section of Old Newport Beach. It took a while to be discovered, but we finally took off. The shop had Takach/Garfield litho presses, which could handle stones and plates up to 40X60 inches. We had an inventory of 45 beautiful Bavarian limestones, as well as Afion onyx stones. After five years of operation we moved to Spokane, WA where we worked until 1990. After the shop closed, Conrad went on to print for several other shops around the country until he retired in 2003.
After 35 years of collaboration, I am now selling my collection from my Santa Fe Studio. Many types of processes were available at Ocean Works, as you can see by the variety in the inventory.
This gallery features some of the best work and artists in the printmaking field. I invite you to explore this site and find the perfect print for your collection.
